IPL 2020: Virat Kohli and RCB players to wear jerseys with Corona warriors' names to pay tribute

The RCB players will wear special jerseys with COVID-19 warriors' names in their game against SRH.

RCB players will wear jerseys with names of COVID-19 warriors to pay tribute to them | TwitterIn an effort to say thanks and appreciate the spirit and hard work of the Corona warriors, who have been fighting day-night to save as many lives as possible from the deadly COVID-19 virus, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise and players have decided to adopt a novel to show their respect.

RCB players, who will be playing their first game of the IPL 2020 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Dubai International Stadium, have changed their names and profile pictures on Twitter to pay tribute to Covid-19 heroes.

RCB will wear a tribute jersey with the message "My Covid Heroes" both during training and matches for the entire 13th edition of the Indian Premier League.

AB de Villiers will be donning the jersey with Paritosh written on the back instead of his name. Paritosh Pant is a restauranteur who started ‘Project Feeding from Far’ with lawyer Pooja Reddy in Mumbai's Govandi and fed meals to the needy during the lockdown.

Similarly, RCB captain Virat Kohli will be donning the jersey with Simranjeet written on the back and this will be done for all the players in a grand and laudable initiative from the RCB team.

Simranjeet Singh, a hearing-impaired person, along with his friends raised Rs 98,000 to help people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He approached people to raise donations for the poor and many deaf individuals agreed. These individuals weren’t from any particular organization and they selflessly donated funds.

My COVID Heroes jersey as a sign of solidarity and gratitude to everyone who is right now going the extra mile to support the community at large. They have batted day and night and fought on the field, and I am honored to call them my heroes," Said Virat Kohli when talking about this heartwarming initiative taken up by RCB

Here are the names that various other RCB players will be donning during IPL 2020:
