South Africa and Delhi Capitals’ star pacer Kagiso Rabada yet again delivered a phenomenal 'super over' performance to ensure a thrilling win for the DC in their IPL 2020 opening clash against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Sunday (September 20) in Dubai.

After the contest entered the super over, Rabada dismissed the KXIP skipper KL Rahul and batsman Nicholas Pooran on successive deliveries, leaving DC with a paltry target of 3 runs to chase – which Shreyas Iyer-led side Delhi easily hunted down to start off their IPL 2020 campaign with a thrilling victory in Dubai.

The KL Rahul-led team posted the lowest super over score in IPL history – 2 as the previous lowest total was six each by Mumbai Indians pacers Mitchell Johnson and Jasprit Bumrah on two different occasions.

After his thrilling show with the ball in the super over, the South African speedster admitted that there are always nerves, but he “backed himself” and “luckily” managed to successfully pull off a stunning Super Over for the DC.

Rabada said after the match: “There will always be nerves no matter how long I play when things get tight. Luckily it came off today. It just depends what's working for me on the day and some days you just get a feel for what might work and today I was mixing the lengths up and really glad it worked.”

He signed off by saying, “There's a decent bounce in this wicket, and the boundaries are quite big. So it'll take a bit to clear it. So I backed myself.”

Noteworthy, Rabada had pulled off a stunning super over win in the last IPL season too, against the Kolkata Knight Riders and one of the dangerous all-rounders Andre Russell.
