The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will begin from September 19 onwards and will be played at three bio-secure venues in the UAE- Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Along with the Indian players participating in the tournament, there is also a craze for the foreign stars who have decided to come to UAE.

Amongst those, the last arrivals will be players from England and Australia given that they are currently engaged in a limited-overs series. Earlier it was expected that when the IPL contracted players from these two countries arrive in UAE, they would be spared the mandatory 6-day quarantine period.

This was because they are already coming from a bio-secure environment and were expected to tie up with their franchises directly. However, the reports now indicate that there will be no relaxations provided to these players coming from England and they will have to undergo the mandatory quarantine protocols.

IPL 2020: IPL franchises share team-wise schedule for upcoming season

As per Cricbuzz reports, the schedule was made keeping in mind these protocols and other health measures and therefore would require all the players arriving from England to quarantine themselves for six days on their arrival to UAE. As per the league's Standard Operating Procedures, they'll have to test negative on Days 1, 3, and 6 to be eligible to join the team.

Provided the players return three negative results for COVID-19, they are likely to be allowed to play from September 24, by when all teams will have played a minimum of one game each, with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings playing two.

Rajasthan Royals will be the most affected team given that their captain Steve Smith, along with Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, and Andrew Tye will miss some game time. SRH will also have captain David Warner and Jonny Bairstow in quarantine on arrival.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, too, have four of their players participating in the England-Australia assignment.
