The thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League known as IPL 13 or IPL 2020 was supposed to commence this March but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it was suspended, and finally, this season is set to begin on 19th September in UAE.

As usual, eight teams are taking part in it. Defending champions Mumbai Indians are once again the favorite for the title and some other teams like Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore too are expected to give a good fight.

All the teams have added some players to their squads and also some players have been released so teams have gone through a transition and will be hoping that their new squads are good enough to challenge for the title on slow and dry wickets of UAE.

Rajasthan Royals - the first IPL champions are being called underdogs for this season. Over the years they couldn't perform up to the standard and it's one of the reasons why they aren't being rated so highly. This time they will look to do better and the likes of Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Jofra Archer along with Indian talents like Shreyas Gopal, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, and Ankit Rajpoot, RR has enough firepower to challenge for the play-offs at least, if not for the title.

On these slow wickets of UAE, their spinners will have to play a big role along with good batsmen of spin like Steven Smith, Ben Stokes, and Jos Buttler. And here is a statistical look at Rajasthan Royals' journey in the Indian Premier League over the years.
