An experienced cricketer of pedigree in his own right, Australia's limited-overs captain Aaron Finch wants to make his stint in UAE with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 count by picking the brains of the mighty Virat Kohli.
Finch, who will be flying across to the gulf from England at the conclusion of upcoming ICC Super League ODI fixtures, said playing alongside and spending the best part of two months with RCB skipper Kohli is a much-desired opportunity that nobody would want to let go wasted.

“Kohli is a great player, has achieved a lot of success in all three formats and performed consistently all around the world in all conditions. So I would be doing all I can to pick his brains on batting. Be it strategy or technique, I would try to take away as much as I can," Finch told Times of India in reply to a query during an online presser in the UK.
"I am not sure how much technical advice I can offer him but, hopefully, I can give back something to the RCB dressing room as well and contribute to the team’s success," he added.
Australian cricket has been struggling financially during these times, with the COVID-19 pandemic wreaking havoc on the world economy. There is also an ongoing tiff with the broadcasters back home regarding the playing schedule.
Finch said the limited-overs series with arch-rivals England, starting September 4 with first of three T20Is, will help with regards to taking people's minds back to the on-field action.
“Whenever there is no content, we give people a lot of time to sit around and come up with theories," he said. "But hopefully, we can let cricket do all the talking once we start playing.
"As players, we are really training hard and focusing on the game. The England series will be a quick one, followed by some domestic cricket (IPL)."
"So we are all excited for having been able to return to the ground. We do want to put some positive headlines out there," Finch concluded.
