New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is worried about the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 start as he prepares to join Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in UAE.
Williamson will leave for the tournament which starts on September 19 on Thursday. He is aware of the discipline needed to be followed to avoid the spread of the virus. BCCI has strictly told franchisees to cooperate and follow the protocols.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise has two players and 11 support staff affected because of COVID-19. They tested positive and now recovering from the virus in isolation.
Williamson is hopeful of proper measures being taken to avoid any further transmission of the virus. "That's part of the reason why they made every team stay at a different hotel," Williamson told Radio New Zealand.

"But obviously that's bad news. You don't want to hear anybody has COVID. I hear they are predominantly asymptomatic so hopefully, through another lockdown period they can come through and will be okay."
Williamson, one of six Kiwis who will play in the cash-rich league, is alarmed before the tournament.
"Obviously there's a little bit of apprehension, certainly as you get nearer to the time," he said. "Now it's two days out you start thinking you do have to be extremely vigilant and disciplined."
