Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) South African trio AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, and Chris Morris have joined the franchise in Dubai. The rest of the squad had already boarded a flight from India for UAE.
There were questions on the participation of South African players because of travel restrictions in their country amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But now after they have joined the franchise, it will give the squad and RCB fans a sigh of relief.

De Villiers, after landing in Dubai, said he is delighted and eager to join the squad. He was looking forward to the COVID-19 test and a result in his favor.
“I’m very excited, very happy to be here. Travelling was a bit different to normal but we’ve made it here with my South African friends and we’re very happy to be back in the RCB family, and looking forward to my COVID Test.”, he said.
Morris accepted he is nervous, while Steyn is more worried about the heat outside. “It’s been quite a while that we’ve played the game that we love. So yeah very challenging but we’re very excited to get going, a little bit nervous too to be honest,” said Morris.
“It’s gonna be interesting to play in the heat. We got here like 3 in the morning and it was steaming outside. Looking forward to what’s it gonna be like in a few weeks,” added Steyn ahead of the tournament which starts next month.
