IPL 2020: RCB begins its sojourn to UAE for IPL 13; players share pics

RCB players will undergo six days of quarantine upon arrival in UAE.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the most popular IPL franchises | TwitterThe Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) became the latest team to embark on a flight to fly to UAE for the upcoming IPL 2020. The Virat Kohli-led side has not been in the best of forms in the last few editions of the tournament but will hope to do better in new conditions.

As per BCCI SOPs, the players will have to undergo six days of quarantine after landing in UAE and will begin practice thereafter. In an interview published by ESPNCricinfo, RCB chairman Sanjeev Churiwala said that there is a chance that players from Australia and England may get exemptions from the mandatory quarantine period.

This is because they will be coming from a bio-secure environment in England to UAE and if no one has breached the protocols and carry a negative result, obtained from a test conducted not more than 96 hours before their arrival in UAE.

He also informed that RCB’s South African trio of AB de Villiers, Chris Morris, and Dale Steyn have got the permission from the South African government to travel for the IPL.

Apart from this, a couple of players shared other photos as well including fast bowlers Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini.
