With the IPL 2020 around the corner, former Australian speedster Brett Lee has come out with a suggestion for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to change their fortune in the upcoming edition of the India Premier League (IPL) to be held in the UAE.
The RCB has been one of the most high-profile teams in the IPL but never won the trophy despite having world-class players and the leadership of Indian captain and batting master Virat Kohli.
Well, this time the IPL 2020 will be played in a different scenario due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Lee has opened up on the RCB’s chances in the upcoming tournament in the UAE.
The former Aussie believes that all the RCB players should help out in taking all the pressure off captain Kohli and let him enjoy his game for fruitful results in the tournament.
Lee said on the latest episode of Star Sports’ Cricket Connected chat show: “I just want Kohli to go out there and enjoy his cricket, take all the pressure off himself as a captain and player.”
He further explained, “Because he is so good at that level, I think sometimes with all the pressure going around in the team, people are failing, he tries to get all the players on his back and tries to carry them. All the RCB squad should help out in taking all the pressure off Kohli.”
Lee also suggested Kohli should make Australian white-ball captain Aaron Finch his deputy for the IPL 2020. He signed off by saying, “I think Aaron Finch could play the role of vice-captain to Virat Kohli.”
Notably, the IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 with the final to be played on November 10th.
