The IPL 2020, which was plunged into uncertainty with COVID-19 pandemic wreaking havoc in India, is now all set to be held in UAE.
While the Governing Council of the league will meet next week only after they receive a clearance from the Indian government to stage the tournament overseas, the IPL chairman Brijesh Patel on Friday (July 24) confirmed that they have zeroed in on a 51-day window from September 19 to November 8 for the T20 league.

With this development, the talks of franchises starting their preparation camp have also started.
Speaking to Gulf News, a source said three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are likely to arrive in UAE by the second week of August in order to acclimatise to the conditions and get into their groove after a lengthy hiatus from action due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
As per the report, most of the teams are planning to come during the third week but CSK will be hitting the ground early as they have many present and past Indian stars in their line-up.
Besides skipper MS Dhoni, the likes of Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Kedar Jadhav, Harbhajan Singh, Sharadul Thakur and Deepak Chahar will be accompanying the squad.
Meanwhile, some CSK cricketers have started outdoor training at facilities in their hometowns after the lockdown guidelines were relaxed by the government.
Raina was recently seen practising at his training facility in Ghaziabad.
Dhoni, who has been out of competitive cricket for more than a year, will also be looking to showcase his skills in the upcoming IPL season.
