Australia opener David Warner on Friday (April 17) picked the IPL 2016 triumphant as his favourite memory in the T20 tournament.
In the 2016 edition, Warner led SunRisers Hyderabad to the title win by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final.

Taking to Instagram, he posted a video and said: "My favourite IPL memory is when we won the IPL in 2016, we had a very good tournament, the best thing was we won a lot of close games, it helped in developing a sense of belief within the side. A lot of credit goes to our coaches and mentors at that time."
"We came up against RCB in Bangalore in the finals, we knew how well Virat went in that edition, he scored 900 odd runs in the finals, it was about backing ourselves, we won the toss and elected to bat first, I felt like a team our best attribute was defending the totals," the southpaw added.
Riding on Warner’s 38-ball 69 and a couple of cameos from Yuvraj Singh (38 off 23 balls) and Ben Cutting (39* off 15 balls), SRH had posted a mammoth 208/7 on the board in the IPL 2016 final.
In reply, RCB fell 8-run short of the target despite the heroics from Chris Gayle (76 off 38 balls) and Virat Kohli (54 off 35 balls). For SRH, Cutting was the stand-out bowler, claiming 2 for 35 in his four overs and he deservedly earned the Player-of-the-Match award for his stellar all-round showing.
"We managed to do that, Ben Cutting I think scored 28 runs off the final over, my heart was in my mouth when Virat and Gayle were going all guns blazing. But we got quick wickets and we went on to win the final, it is one thing I will cherish for the rest of my life," Warner recalled.
