Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden revealed the moment that remains closest to his heart from his IPL career with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Hayden, who played for CSK for three years, recalled the match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) during the 2010 season in Dharamshala because of which he got the chance to meet Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama.

"In 2010, I got the opportunity to meet Dalai Lama, it was a great moment in my life, I got the chance to meet someone so special. I still remember the match between CSK and Kings XI Punjab at Dharamsala, we needed more than 190 and we were under the pump," Hayden can be heard saying in a video posted over the official Twitter handle of CSK about the most special moment of his IPL journey.
That game is best remembered for how the great MS Dhoni showed off his class once again in the closing stages of an encounter and pulled off victory for CSK from the jaws of defeat.
"It was then that MS Dhoni walked out to the middle and started to tee off from the start, he scored 54 off just 27 balls, Suresh Raina scored 46 runs, both of them had a strike rate of over than 150 and as a result, we entered the finals," Hayden said.
The 48-year-old then talked about his second most favourite memory playing for CSK. "My second-best memory is when Mumbai Indians and CSK took on each other in the 2010 IPL finals. We all know that it is the real rivalry in IPL."
"My favourite moment (from the game) was when Albie Morkel dismissed Kieron Pollard, MS Dhoni had placed me at straight mid-off. I took a catch there to send off Pollard, and as a result, we ended up winning the tournament," he added.
CSK clinched victory over MI by 22 runs at the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai to lift its maiden IPL trophy.
Hayden's fruitful career playing for CSK saw him score 1,107 runs at a strike-rate of 137.52.
