With all the sporting action coming to a standstill due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has been also impacted by the global crisis.
The IPL 2020 was scheduled to start from March 29, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) postponed the cash-rich tournament due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic until April 15.

With the situation worsening all around the world, including India, there is a huge possibility that IPL 13 may be canceled this year, but the BCCI is confident of staging the league if the situation improves in the country which has seen around 3200 COVID-19 cases with nearly 60 deaths so far.
Well, if the IPL 2020 takes place, a few international players might be forced to withdraw from the premier T20 league, but Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Sam Curran has become the latest overseas player to confirm his availability for the tournament.
The English all-rounder, who was bought by the CSK for INR 5.5 crore, also said he is training and will be ready to play if the league is organized on short notice. Curran also revealed that the CSK has been in touch with all the players around the globe and the players are also trying to keep themselves fit by training regularly amid the COVID-19 lockdown which is implemented across the globe.

Curran told ESPNcricinfo: “We're just trying to keep fit and keep training like we usually do. April 15 is the proposed date, but I think India has also gone into lockdown. But each day it changes. CSK has been in touch about trying to do what we can.”
He signed off by saying, “All the CSK boys around the world, every country is in lockdown, so every cricketer is in the same boat. It would be silly not to keep fit because it might come to a two-week turnaround and we're all in the park. Fingers crossed it's soon.”
Noteworthy, the future of IPL 2020 is expected to be decided after the end of the 21-day lockdown period in India, but even if the situation improves in the country, the BCCI might have to look for another window.
