IPL 2020: MS Dhoni to begin training for IPL 13 from March 2 in Chennai, as per reports

He will be also part of the CSK's full preparatory camp later on.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to bring smiles on his fans’ faces once again as the Chennai Super Kings captain will kick start his training for the upcoming third edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 from March 2, 2020, in Chennai.

Dhoni, India and CSK's legendary captain, and wicketkeeper-batsman, has been out of action since India’s semi-final exit from the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England that has speculated a lot of rumors of his retirement from international cricket.

However, there is still no clarity about Dhoni’s international career, but the long wait of his fans has come to an end the legend will now be very soon seen entraining the CSK fans in the IPL 2020.

According to the Press Trust of India, the 38-year old will start training at the MA Chidambaram stadium for the upcoming IPL 2020 while the T20 event gets underway with a match between CSK and defending champion Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on March 29.

The reports also suggested that Dhoni is expected to practice for a couple of weeks with the likes of Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu – who have already started training in Chennai for the past three weeks among others and then take a break before returning to lead the side in the IPL 13.

Meanwhile, CSK CEO K S Viswanathan recently hinted that the captain cool will also be training with players who are available as the full preparatory camp of the team starting on March 19, as it would help the veteran to bond with the new players in the CSK set-up.

The CSK’s training in Chennai had attracted crowds in thousands in the last two years and it can be expected the same this season as well with Dhoni’s early arrival for preparation for the IPL 2020.

Noteworthy, the three-time IPL champion CSK had picked Piyush Chawla, Australian pacer Josh Hazelwood, England all-rounder Sam Curran and Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore at the auction last December for the upcoming season of the cash-rich event.
