Pat Cummins' INR 15.50 crore prize tag at the end of the IPL 2020 auction in December raised eyebrows around the world as the Australian pacer became the most expensive overseas cricketer ahead of the league's 13th edition, starting March 29.

But the 26-year-old speedster himself isn't too perturbed by the talk around that and feels more satisfied by the fact that he'll be returning to the Kolkata Knight Riders set-up.

"It’s good to see fast bowlers are sought after," Cummins told Sportstar. "A couple of early wickets, or a tight over at the end can be just as match-winning as a big batting score."

"I’m also excited to be back with KKR. I spent two seasons with KKR and loved my time there, they are a great big family," he added.

Cummins was first bought by KKR for the 2017 IPL season when he took 15 wickets in 12 innings at an economy rate of 8.07. The tall fast bowler will definitely be in the spotlight as KKR depends on his potency in the powerplay and at the slog-overs again.

“I like to put all my energy into the actual act of bowling and keep my emotions in check," Cummins talked up his mindset to cut the unnecessary noise down and focus solely on getting the job done.

"There’s nothing like a bowler and batter both trying to be aggressive taking the game on…it gets the heart rate pumping. I feel if I’m in control of how I’m bowling, I don’t need to try and be intimidatory with my actions."

Kolkata Knight Riders begin their IPL 2020 campaign with an away fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 31.
