Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) core members Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu have started preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 edition. The schedule of the season is yet to be announced, but as per reports, it will most probably kick off in the last week of March.

Raina and Rayudu, who have been retained by the franchise before the auction, joined the CSK training session. The official Twitter account of Chennai Super Kings shared the picture on social media. In the photo, the players were seen doing stretching.

Raina hasn't played competitive cricket for a long time. He last played against Mumbai Indians at IPL 2019 final. On the other hand, Rayudu returned from retirement and played Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Chennai has performed well in the last two seasons with senior players on their side. But the age factor may bother the franchise this season. They will anyway get a shuffle next year in the mega auction.

In IPL 2020 auction, CSK bought Piyush Chawla at Rs 6.75 crore, England allrounder Sam Curran for Rs 5.5 crore and Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood for Rs 2 crore.
