Jasprit Bumrah who has been out of cricket owing to a back injury is on his way to full recovery. While talking to media at an event on Friday (20 December), Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene said that he expects the Indian pacer to feature in India’s upcoming home series against Sri Lanka and Australia.
While talking about Bumrah’s progress, Jayawardene said, “It's good. He (Bumrah) has started training. He was in Vizag (Visakhapatnam) bowling to the guys (Indian players). MI staff is closely monitoring his progress.”
The 26-year-old who is nearly back to his full fitness from a stress fracture has started bowling as he recently bowled at the Indian team's nets.

The Sri Lankan great Jayawardene is also expecting all-rounder Hardik Pandya to be back playing by January or February.
“Hardik (Pandya) is (also) making good progress (I'm) quite happy, hopefully they will play the Sri Lankan series (early January), or may be the Australian series (although) I am not sure how quickly they will be coming through,” the 42-year-old said.
“It (all) depends on the medical staff, but as long as they are playing in January- February, it's fine,” he told the reporters at the '7th Pro-Am Golf Championship', a fund-raising event organised by The Golf Foundation at the Willingdon Sports Club in Mahalaxmi.
