Williams had conceded 60 runs in the first T20I between India and West Indies.

Kesrick Williams' decent performance on a flat Wankhede pitch during India vs West Indies third T20I made former India player Sanjay Manjrekar root for him in the IPL 2020 auction.

Willaims, who mostly stayed in news because of his banter with Indian skipper Virat Kohli, somehow managed to impress Manjrekar. The former India cricketer feels Kesrick can be a good bowler in Indian conditions. He wrote, “Go for Kesrick Williams guys. Perfect bowler for IPL conditions.”

But the ex-England batsman Kevin Pietersen, who has been a part of the IPL himself, feels Williams isn't special and apart from his celebration nothing is worth notable.

Pietersen responded to a tweet by a fan who told Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to go for Williams in the auction. “@RCBTweets should pouch him given the chemistry he shares with @imVkohli I can see the captain and the bowler comparing notes after a dismissal! Brilliant!!! @CoachHesson @KP24,” the user wrote.

Responding to him, the Englishman tweeted, “Completely disagree. He’s not good enough! He has nothing special apart from his celebration.”
