Ahead of the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made quite a few changes to their support staff in a bid to revive their fortune in the T20 tournament.

While former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson has been named the Director of Cricket Operations, former Australia batsman Simon Katich has been appointed as the Head Coach of the team. And on the last date of the trade window, RCB revealed the list of retained and released players.

In total, the Bangalore-based franchise retained 13 and released as many as 12 players from their previous year's squad. As expected, RCB retained their skipper Virat Kohli and South Africa’s batting maverick AB de Villiers.

Other retained players in the list include Moeen Ali, Yuzvendra Chahal, Parthiv Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Pawan Negi, Devdutt Paddikal, Gurkeerat Mann Singh, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube and Navdeep Saini.

The franchise decided to let go Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetymer, Akshdeep Nath, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Colin de Grandhomme, Prayas Ray Barman, Tim Southee, Kulwant Khejroliya, Himmat Singh, Heinrich Klaasen, Milind Kumar and Dale Steyn.
