On the last day of the IPL trading window on November 14, Delhi Capitals made another huge trade after bringing in R Ashwin from Kings XI Punjab; as they brought in Ajinkya Rahane from Rajasthan Royals.
Rahane played 100 IPL games for RR from 2011-2015 and then from 2018-2019, scored 2810 runs at an average of 34.26 and a strike rate of 122.65. He also scored two centuries for the Royals and made 17 half-centuries.
Delhi Capitals have traded leg spinner Mayank Markande to Rajasthan Royals. After the 12th season of the VIVO IPL, Markande was traded to Delhi Capitals by Mumbai Indians.
Also traded is Rahul Tewatia, who actually began his career with Rajasthan in 2014, will return back into the fold. He also played for them in 2015 before moving to Kings XI Punjab in 2017 and settling with Delhi Capitals in 2018 and 2019.
Rahane was criticized by fans and experts for his below-par strike rate at the top which didn’t help matters for the team. His captaincy also proved to be ineffective in the 2019 season and he was replaced mid-season by Steve Smith.
