The IPL 2019 between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians went down to the wire as the Mumbai Indians clinched their record fourth title by winning the match by just one run. This was their second such victory in the finals, after their IPL 2017 win as well.
MI had batted first and put on 149/8 with Kieron Pollard making 41* and Deepak Chahar picked 3/26 in his four overs. In reply, CSK’s chase was shouldered by 80-run knock by Shane Watson and it was the magic of Lasith Malinga, who defended 9 runs in the final over, making MI champions yet again.

Super Striker of the Match- Faf du Plessis (CSK)- who made 26 runs in 13 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.
Stylish Player of the Match- Kieron Pollard (MI)- who made 41* in just 25 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Game Changer of the Match- Rahul Chahar (MI)- who picked 1/14 in four overs.
Player of the IPL Final – Jasprit Bumrah (MI)- for his figures of 2/14 in four overs.
Pitch and ground Award – Punjab Cricket Association and Hyderabad Cricket Association
The Emerging Player Award- Shubman Gill (KKR)- 19-year-old Gill made 296 runs in 14 matches with 3 fifties at a strike rate of 124.36 and showed his mettle at the top of the order when given chance.

Fastest Fifty – Hardik Pandya (MI)- he scored a 17-ball fifty against KKR at Eden Gardens.

Super Striker of the Season- Andre Russell (KKR) – 510 runs with 52 sixes at 204.81 strike rate and 56.66 average, this was the IPL season that Andre Russell had for KKR.
Stylish Player of the Season – KL Rahul (KXIP) – 593 runs in 14 matches with one century and 6 fifties at a strike rate of 135.38
Game Changer of the Season – Rahul Chahar (MI)- 13 wickets in 13 games at an economy of 6.55 and best bowling of 3/19.
Orange Cap - David Warner (SRH)- Warner made 692 runs with eight fifties and one century for Sunrisers Hyderabad and his absence was felt badly by the team in the later part of the tournament. He scored his runs at a strike rate of 143.86 and averaged 69.20.
Purple Cap - Imran Tahir (CSK)- Imran Tahir picked two wickets in the finals against MI and reached 26 wickets, eclipsing Kagiso Rabada’s 25 wickets. Tahir gave away runs at 6.69 rpo and had the best bowling figures of 4/12.
The Most Valuable Player- Andre Russell (KKR) – 510 runs and 11 wickets with 52 sixes at 204.81 strike rate and 56.66 average, this was the IPL season that Andre Russell had for KKR. He single-handedly took KKR on the brink of making it into the playoffs, but just fell short thanks to lack of support on the other end.
