MS Dhoni is hard to stop in the death overs and looks to collect as many runs in the last few overs as possible. The 37-year-old experienced man builds his innings so that he could capitalize it in the end.
Well, on Tuesday, against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first qualifiers, he couldn't collect even a single boundary in the last over of the match against Jasprit Bumrah. But the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman had hit Lasith Malinga for a couple of sixes in the penultimate over. Those two sixes made the crowd go crazy.
The deliveries were right in his slot for him to hit. Bowling from the round the stumps, Malinga created a perfect angle and pitched the ball in Dhoni's arc to get smashed for a six.
It was two consecutive sixes from Dhoni that made Malinga go over the stumps and finish his over on a happy note. Here are those two sixes which was the highlight of Dhoni's unbeaten 29-ball 37 at a strike rate of 127.59.
The CSK skipper added 66 runs for the fifth wicket along with Ambati Rayudu which helped CSK get to 131/4 in their 20 overs. But the runs weren't enough as they lost the game by 6 wickets. It was Suryakumar Yadav who played a match-winning knock of 71* runs.
