David Warner, one of the most destructive openers across all formats, has finished his comeback IPL 2019 season in style having led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to a 45-run victory over the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Monday, 29 April at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

SRH’s last home match of IPL 2019 against the KXIP was his final assignment with the Orange Army for the ongoing 12th season, and Warner didn’t leave any stone unturned to make his franchise proud of him even in his last appearance in the tournament, hammering a brilliant knock of 81 off 56 balls to help his team beat the tourists in front of the home crowd.

The left-hander accumulated a massive 692 runs from 12 matches for SRH with 8 fifty-plus scores and a hundred at a stunning strike-rate of 143.86 to once again play a key role in the team’s success in the IPL.

Following the Hyderabad match, the explosive opener has dropped a special message for his SRH teammates before heading to Australia to join the 2019 World Cup preparatory camp.

In a video shared by the IPL on its social media network, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen as a cameraman covering Warner's farewell speech, where the opener described Hyderabad as his second home and also thanked the franchise, his teammates, coaching staff and the fans for their support.

Warner also wrote on Instagram, “I cannot express my gratitude enough to the @sunrisershyd family for your support, not just this season but also for the last year. It’s been a long time waiting but it was great to be back amongst the boys. Owners, support staff, players, social media team and the fans thank you very much for welcoming me back with open arms. I thoroughly enjoyed being back out there swinging that willow. Good luck to the guys for the rest of the tournament and finish.”
