IPL 2019: Harbhajan Singh feels glad to be back in action after an injury

Harbhajan missed CSK's last four encounters because of a neck injury and his family issues.

Chennai Super Kings off-spinner Harbhajan Singh finally played a game on Tuesday (April 23) versus Sunrisers Hyderabad after missing four consecutive matches of IPL 2019  due to health issues. The turbanator picked up two crucial wickets of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow and helped his team win the important encounter by six wickets at Chepauk.

"It's always nice to go out there in the middle, unfortunately, I missed a few games due to sickness," he said at the post-match presentation ceremony. "My whole family was sick, in fact. Nice to be back, and really happy with the result as well."

Shane Watson played an outstanding knock for CSK on the night. He dominated the much-talked-about SRH bowling line-up and finished with a 53-ball 96 that allowed the MS Dhoni-led hosts to eventually scale down the 176-run target in 19.5 overs.

"We would have liked to finish the game in the 19th over itself, but the boys were just testing our hearts," Bhajji added. "Somehow we have the tendency to take it to the last over. As long as we're getting the result, we're fine."

"It's nice to see Shane Watson getting those runs under his belt. He's a serious player, last year he won us the final single-handedly, and this innings will boost his confidence."

Chennai won yet another game at home and became the first team to reach the playoffs round, with eight victories and only three losses thus far.

"We always play well in Chennai, we know our conditions, and thanks to this beautiful crowd who come here to Chennai Super Kings. When teams come here, they have to play much better cricket than us to beat us," Harbhajan concluded.
