The 40th match of the tournament will see Delhi Capitals taking on Rajasthan Royals in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Capitals and Royals have both won two out of three matches last played. This match is important for RR to win, to stay in contention for the playoffs.
Delhi Capitals have done mightily well under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy and he has led from the front. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan have given DC amazing starts and the lower order of Colin Ingram and Pant have built on it. However, Pant’s penchant for throwing away his wicket at the worst times have hurt DC a lot. Their most important aspect is their amazing bowling attack led by Purple Cap holder Kagiso Rabada and India’s Ishant Sharma. The only possible change is they might bring in a pace bowler in for spinner Amit Mishra, given that Sandeep Lamichhane has been so good for them. 
Steve Smith led RR to a very important win in his first match as captain. Their ploy of playing a young Indian all-rounder in Riyan Parag helped the team a lot, though Rahane in opening slot still isn’t looking a great prospect. But they have finally started to get something right and might want to get as many wins as possible before Stokes, Archer, and Smith go back to their respective countries for World Cup preparations.
The match is important for both teams given for DC, it’s the question of cementing their playoffs qualification and for RR, trying to move upwards in the points table.
