Imran Tahir is having a great time in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Playing for the defending champions Chennai Super Kings, the Proteas leg-spinner has claimed 13 wickets from 8 games and is currently placed at the second spot in the list of highest wicket-takers in IPL 2019.
On Sunday (April 14), Tahir once again proved his worth as he put up a Man-of-the-Match performance for CSK against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. Tahir was the stand-out bowler for CSK, taking 4 for 27 in his four overs to restrict KKR to 161/8 in 20 overs. Chris Lynn (82), Nitish Rana (21), Robin Uthappa (0) and Andre Russell (10) were his victims.
Apart from his bowling heroics, Tahir has also become the talk of the town for his trademark sprint celebration.
Speaking to IPL’s official website after the match, Tahir opened up about his unique celebration, saying: "Sometimes, my wife and son are here, and I want to show them that I love them as much as I love CSK, so at times, I run towards them. But normally, I don't know when I am celebrating, I hope that people like this. Pray to Allah, I keep taking wickets like this and celebrating like this.”
"Being here is like a dream for me. Now that I am here, I pray I do not lose out on the opportunity. I am thankful to God that I am on this platform, playing the best league in the world, representing CSK, one of the best teams in the world," he added.
