Kolkata Knight Riders continued their winning momentum and beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and registered their fourth win in five matches.
Earlier on a spin-friendly track, Knight Riders won the toss and asked Royals to bat first. Prasidh Krishna gave them a perfect start by removing Ajinkya Rahane for just 5 runs. Jos Buttler and Steve Smith rebuilt the innings but they couldn't score runs at a quick rate and in the quest of some quick runs Jos Buttler perished after scoring 37 runs off 34 balls.
Steve Smith too tried but couldn't accelerate and with singles and doubles brought up his first fifty of the season. Ben Stokes also struggled and scored only 7* runs off 14 balls. Steve Smith remained not out on 73 off 59 balls and Royals ended on only 139/3.
In reply, Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine gave a quick start to their team and smashed all Rajasthan bowlers and set the match for their team. Shreyas Gopal broke this 91 runs opening partnership by removing Sunil Narine for a well made 47 off 25 balls. Chris Lynn also got out after completing his fifty. Robin Uthappa and Shubaman Gill took their team home without any more damage.
