Kings XI Punjab beat Delhi Capitals by 14 runs at PCA IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali and registered their third win from four matches in this season of Indian Premier League.
Earlier Delhi Capitals won the toss and asked Kings XI Punjab to bat first. KL Rahul played a little cameo of 15 runs and got out off Chris Morris bowling. Sam Curran too couldn't convert his start into a big one.
Mayank Agarwal also got run out for only 6 runs and Kings XI reduced to 58/3. The 62 runs partnership between Sarfraz Khan and David Miller brought their team back into the match. Both Sarfraz Khan and Miller got out in fourties. In the end, Mandeep Singh's 29* runs knock helped KXIP to post a respectable total of 166/9.
In reply, Delhi Capitals lost Prithvi Shaw on the first ball of the match. Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram's useful knocks had set the match for Delhi and they needed only 23 runs off 21 balls and had 7 wickets in the hand but after Rishabh Pant's dismissal, they lost the plot and kept losing wickets after wickets and eventually bowled out for 152 runs. Delhi Capitals lost their last 7 wickets for just 8 runs. Sam Curran took 4 wickets including a hat-trick.
