IPL 2019: DC's Chris Morris excited to bowl at KKR's 'absolute genius' Andre Russell

Will trust my training and it'll be the case of 'you miss I hit', says the DC all-rounder

Chris Morris at a press conference in Delhi

On 30th March, the new Delhi franchise Delhi Capitals(DC) take on the two-time IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) at the Kotla. With the game coming closer DC all-rounder Chris Morris is looking forward to his battle against the explosive KKR all-rounder Andre Russell who is in sublime form.

In the last two innings, Russell showed what he’s made of by striking 36 balls he faced out in the middle with a strike rate of 269. With smaller boundaries at the Kotla as compared to the Edden Gardens, it’ll be exciting to see DC’s plans on stopping Russel particularly Morris’s.

Russell has already won Kolkata Knight Riders two games with his big hitting. According to Morris, the fact that he leads Jamaican Tallawahs in the CPL has to give Dre Russ the sense of responsibility towards the team and he wants to make his every outing count.

When asked about the bowling to Russell, Morris said he was up for the challenge and further added, “He(Russel) is an absolute genius. It will be a case of ‘if he misses, I hit’. I won’t give away too many secrets. I might look like a duck but my brain is working overtime and I will look to trust my training and hopefully at the end of the day, he makes a mistake.
