Andre Russell's all-round performance (17 balls 48 & 2/21) and fifties from Nitish Rana and Robin Uthappa powered Kolkata Knight Riders to 28 runs win over Kings XI Punjab at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This was Kolkata's second win in as many games of this IPL season.

Earlier on a good batting track, Kings XI Punjab won the toss and opted to field first. Sunil Narine gave a flying start and scored 25 runs in the second over of innings but he and Lynn couldn't last long and Kolkata was reduced to 36/2. Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana's 110 runs partnership for the third wicket set the platform for a big score. Both Rana and Uthappa also brought in their respective fifties and in the end, Andre Russell's 17 balls 48 runs knock helped Kolkata Knight Riders to post a big total of 218/4 on the board. 

In the chase of 219 runs Kings XI Punjab lost both KL Rahul and Chris Gayle cheaply and after that Mayank Agarwal and David Miller tried to keep their team in the match but their efforts weren't enough and eventually, they ended on 190/4 and fell short of target by 28 runs.
