Rajasthan Royals are currently hosting King XI Punjab in the fourth match of the Indian Premier League 2019 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
After being put into bat by RR skipper Ajinkya Rahane, KXIP rode on Chris Gayle’s 47-ball 79 and Sarfaraz Khan’s 29-ball 46 to post 184/4 in their stipulated 20 overs.
Chasing the highly competitive target, the hosts got off to a brilliant start as Rahane and Jos Buttler added 78 runs for the opening wicket. After Rahane’s dismissal on 27, Buttler continued his domination with Sanju Samson as his new partner.
Having forged a 30-run stand, Buttler and Samson were looking to get the team over the line before something unexpected happened. During the final ball of the 13th over, KXIP skipper Ravichandran Ashwin paused before the delivery stride and took the bails off nonchalantly to mankad the well-set Buttler.
Replays showed that Buttler was out of the crease and he had to go back to the pavilion on 69 off 43 deliveries (10 fours and 2 sixes).
