During Mumbai Indians’ first match of the IPL 2019 against Delhi Capitals on Sunday (March 24), India pacer Jasprit Bumrah sustained an injury on his left shoulder and did not come out to bat later in the evening.

Bumrah picked up the injury in the final over of Delhi Capitals innings when the rampaging Rishabh Pant hit the ball back to him. After diving to the left in his follow-through to stop the ball, Bumrah was seen holding his shoulder.

The injury seemed quite severe as the pacer needed the help of the physio to walk back to the dugout.

With the ICC World Cup 2019 is around the corner, this was certainly a nervy moment for Team India and its fans alike.

The Mumbai Indians team management, however, informed that Bumrah is recovering well. His condition will be assessed on Monday (March 25) and the future course of action will be decided accordingly.

Bumrah along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami and seam bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya are certainties on the flight to England and their workload management was the prime topic ahead of the IPL.
