
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings kicked off their IPL 2019 journey on a high note as they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in the opening match of the season in Chennai.
On a turning track, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first and their spinners Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja ran through Bangalore's batting line-up and dismissed them for a mere score of 70 runs. Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir took 3 wickets each and Jadeja finished with 2 wickets.
In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore also fought well with the ball but they didn't have enough runs to put Chennai Super Kings under pressure and in the 18th over, CSK chased down the target for the loss of three wickets.
