You can hear the sound of an explosion and wind in your head as soon as someone says 'Chris Gayle'. One of the hardest hitters of the cricket ball and 'Universe Boss' has joined the Kings XI Punjab squad ahead of the IPL 2019.
There is going to be a lot of fun in the upcoming season of IPL considering Gayle's recent form. In the five-match ODI series against England, Gayle smashed 39 sixes in four matches. This shows age isn't affecting his power and dominance with the bat.
Gayle, the entertainer, announced his arrival in his own way. "The universe boss is back", he said in the video posted by KXIP.
"Dare counting me out," were the words Gayle's performance screamed last year after a hundred. He had scored his century against a team like Chennai Super Kings and announced his arrival. Surprisingly, there was no one to pick him in the auction and it was KXIP ex-mentor Virender Sehwag who had gone for him.
It still wasn't Gayle's one of the best seasons. In the eleven matches he played, Gayle remained not out twice and scored 368 runs. His average was 40.88 and the highest score was 104*. He scored one hundred and three half-centuries.
