Hardik Pandya, who was ruled out from the ongoing five-match ODI series against Australia after stiffness in his lower back, resumed training on Tuesday (March 12) along with his teammates in the Mumbai Indians camp before the IPL 2019 begins ten days later.

It is now learnt that Hardik was left out of the One-day International series only as a precautionary measure by the selectors as well as the team management. He was replaced by left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

A senior MI official told PTI that the Indian fast bowling all-rounder got joined by elder brother Krunal for this camp organised at the Reliance Corporate Park cricket ground in Ghansoli, where Hardik was involved in a "strength endurance training" regime.

The 25-year-old has played 11 Tests, 45 ODIs and 38 T20s for the country so far and had returned midway through the recent tour down under for provisional suspension enforced over him by BCCI because of misogynist comments on a popular TV show "Koffee with Karan".

Besides Krunal and Hardik, the likes of Jayant Yadav, leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, pacer Barinder Sran, Rasikh Salam, Mitchell McClenaghan and wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan were all seen at this Mumbai Indians camp.

The three-time champions will kickstart their campaign this year with a match against Delhi Capitals on 24th March at the Wankhede stadium.
