The itinerary for the 12th edition of India Premier League has been further delayed and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to release the fixture in a week's time, claims a report in The Mumbai Mirror.
“We’re working closely with the Election Commission and all the authorities concerned and hopefully it will be out in a week,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by The Mumbai Mirror.
Report also suggests that the schedule might not be a confirmed one and changes can be made it later because of the General Elections that might take place in the month of April and May. The Election Commission of India is yet to announce the dates of voting, which is primarily causing the delay in the announcement of IPL fixture.
Nonetheless, one thing is certain that the IPL 2019 will be played in India from March 23. Last month, the BCCI had brushed aside the news claiming that the cash-rich league might be shifted to UAE or South Africa just like it was being done in 2009 and 2014.
The IPL was moved to South Africa in 2009 due to General Elections while a part of the league was played in UAE in 2014 because of the same.
