The IPL 2019 festival has begun with all the eight franchises announcing their retained and released players for the upcoming season. The players, who have been retained, will not be a part of the mega player auction likely to be held on December 17 and 18 in Jaipur.
The latest team to reveal the list is Delhi Daredevils, retaining 14 and releasing as many as 10 players. The Delhi-based franchise had traded veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan (INR 5.2 crore) from Sunrisers Hyderabad and in return gave them all-rounder Vijay Shankar (INR 3.2 crore), Abhishek Sharma (INR 55 lakh) and Shahbaz Nadeem (INR 3.2 crore).
Among the list of players retained by DD include Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, Manjot Kalra, Colin Munro, Chris Morris, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Tewatia, Harshal Patel, Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Sandeep Lamichhane and Avesh Khan.
On the other hand, DD let go Gautam Gambhir, Jason Roy, Gurkeerat Mann, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammad Shami, Dan Christian, Sayan Ghosh, Liam Plunkett, Junior Dala and Naman Ojha.
