Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday (September 7) dismissed the IPL trade reports, involving their wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul.
Rumours are rife that KKR want to acquire Rahul to fill major needs as an opening batter, wicketkeeper, and team captain.
The speculation spiked following reports of a potential fallout with the Capitals management and squad adjustments after Rishabh Pant's return to the franchise.
Some media outlets like Sports Tak also claimed that Rahul threw coffee at DC head coach Hemang Badani over a dressing room dispute.
However, DC shared an old video featuring Rahul to shut the rumours. In the video, Rahul can be seen addressing the Delhi fans, saying: “Chalo Dilli walon, gedi pe chalte hai. I’m home. Dilli, let’s roll. Keep the support going, keep the noise coming and I look forward to see you all”.
DC co-owner Parth Jindal also quashed the rumours as he quoted the post and wrote: “KL IS KLUTCH FOR @DelhiCapitals - one of the nicest guys i know and one who puts the team before himself always. We have unfinished business and will work hard together to make Delhi proud @IPL”.
KL Rahul also quoted the tweet of Jindal and expressed his excitement for the next season. He wrote: “Thank you , can’t wait for the coming season.”
After this official response, it is now clear that KL Rahul will remain a strong pillar of Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season as well.
Rahul had a stellar IPL 2026 season for the Capitals, finishing with 593 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 174.41, which included a record-breaking knock of 152*.
