With a game-winning knock in the finals to lead RCB to their second consecutive triumph, RCB batter Virat Kohli closed IPL 2026 on a high note, seemingly taking one last swing at the Gujarat Titans.

With the victory, Royal Challengers Bengaluru became just the third team in IPL history to win back-to-back titles, joining the elite ranks of the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

Rajat Patidar became the third captain after MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma to win two consecutive IPL titles. And Virat Kohli was the Player of the Match in the final, thanks to his brilliant 75* that shepherded the RCB successfully past the 156-run target.

“Trophy aava de and home jaava de, thank you very much," Kohli said while speaking to Mr Nags in a post-match video posted by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. “Aava De” is the Gujarat Titans’ tagline.

Virat Kohli will now be seen in action when India takes on Afghanistan in a three-ODI series, which follows a one-off Test.
