Shresta Iyer's video saying that PBKS gifted KKR one point after rain abandonment was received poorly | XShresta Iyer, the sister of Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer, has finally spoken out against internet bullies who have abused her family and coworkers following a social media uproar over a video of her.

Shresta Iyer has been relentlessly harassed online for a video she posted after the match between the Punjab Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders was called off in the ongoing IPL 2026.

After a washout against his previous team in Kolkata, the then-in-form Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS could only manage one point. Following the result, Shresta Iyer and the Punjab social media team posted a video in which they joked that KKR was fortunate to escape with a single point due to rain.

Shresta Iyer was subjected to constant trolling on social media during the game on April 6. The Punjab Kings quickly lost form and ultimately failed to make the playoffs because of a single point.

Shresta Iyer finally, on Monday, took to Instagram to disclose the severity of the trolling she, her family, and her coworkers have been subjected to. Shresta said that she was merely having fun with her films, but there has been a lot of hateful internet harassment.

The video that I had created earlier, you guys exaggerated it to extremes, when the motive of the reel was just a fun banter. I was just supporting my brother’s team. I wasn’t trolling anyone; I had no bad intentions behind the banter. I wasn’t spreading hate against anyone. I respect every cricketer because my brother is a cricketer.

“I pity you guys. You have been calling my workplace, abusing me, my colleagues, my students, and my family. Harassing them and calling at random times. You are crossing all your limits. You are messaging students whom I train. This much hate? You are abusing me, so that should be enough. Why are you reaching out to the students? This is not right? I am not here to tell what is right or wrong. You guys will continue to do this. I just want to show the people who support you what you guys are doing,” Shresta stated in a video on Instagram.

Shresta also put on a strong front, saying that she will stay true to herself and that the trolls might soon be hit by bad Karma.

I will celebrate my brother. When he wins, I will always celebrate him. In cricket, wins and losses are part of the game. But to abuse families, sisters, sons, and wives is not right. For those who are saying that this is my Karma, all those who have abused my family and me will also bear the brunt of their karma,” she added.
