Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Akash Singh made a huge impression in his first game of the IPL 2026 season. This happened when LSG faced Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 15, 2026, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. CSK openers Sanju Samson (20) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (13) attempted to give CSK a very good start, and they hit some very good shots in the powerplay.
Wickets were the need of the hour, and Pant brought in left-arm pacer Akash Singh into the attack, and the left-arm pacer gave immediate results.
He had Ruturaj Gaikwad caught by Nicholas Pooran at mid-on, as CSK captain mis-hit a pull shot. In celebration, Akash took out a note from his pocket and also pointed towards his head, showing his cricketing acumen.
He then accounted for Sanju Samson, who whipped a length delivery towards deep square leg and was caught by Mitchell Marsh. Akash Singh again took the note out the pocket to celebrate.
The note read: “#Akki on fire- Akash knows how to take wickets in T20 game.”
