IPL 2026: Arshdeep Singh under BCCI scanner for Instagram reels; PBKS to hold compliance meeting with players - Report

The BCCI has issued a set of guidelines to all 10 IPL franchises after multiple protocol breaches.

Arshdeep Singh | BCCI-IPLPunjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Arshdeep Singh is under scrutiny for the reels and vlogs he shares on his social media handles, following a recent advisory issued by the BCCI.

According to reports, the board has issued a set of guidelines to all 10 IPL franchises after multiple protocol breaches.

Key directives include prohibiting unauthorized guests in hotel rooms, restricting owner-player interactions during matches, banning vaping in all team areas, and requiring visible display of accreditation cards to uphold integrity protocols.

While the full advisory is yet to be released officially, the BCCI’s message has already made its intent clear.

According to a Cricbuzz report, each team manager has been directed to convene squad meeting within 48 hours of receiving the guidelines, and Punjab Kings are expected to comply on Saturday evening.

Moreover, Arshdeep has reportedly been told by the board to refrain from creating content on social media.

“Something that has caught the attention of the managers and officials of the BCCI. Going forward, videos will be produced and posted only through the franchise’s official handles,” the report stated. “The franchise will communicate with the players on Saturday evening, including Arshdeep, and seek their compliance with the recently issued advisory of the BCCI.”

Punjab Kings, slated to face Delhi Capitals on Monay (May 11), are reportedly scheduled to hold the meeting with players today evening to enforce new, stricter BCCI social media guidelines. Players will sign compliance documents after practice regarding these rules.

Earlier, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia had announced a strict crackdown on protocol breaches, warning that the "era of leniency is over".

"We are issuing an advisory, and it will be enforced very strictly. If there is any violation hereafter, the BCCI and IPL will take very stringent action. Whoever the violator may be, we will not spare anybody," Saikia told in an interaction with ANI.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced scrutiny over protocol breaches earlier in the 2026 season. First, team manager Romi Bhinder was fined Rs 1 lakh and issued a stern warning for using a mobile phone in the dugout. Later, skipper Riyan Parag was fined 25% of his match fee for vaping inside the dressing room.
