Punjab Kings (PBKS) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has become the newest cricketing star to be caught vaping on camera. This comes a few days after Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag was seen vaping or smoking an e-cigarette during an IPL 2026 match.
As a result, Parag was fined 25% of his match fees, and a demerit point was added to his record. According to a BCCI statement on Thursday, Parag "was found to have breached Article 2.21 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, which relates to conduct that brings the game into disrepute."
Significantly, the BCCI said it was "exploring other options to initiate proceedings for stringent action against the erring team, its officials, and player/s to ensure that the reputation of the IPL remains intact."
And now Punjab Kings' Yuzvendra Chahal, who is the all-time highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League, was seen smoking an e-cigarette in an airplane. Chahal is seen smoking an e-cigarette inside the aircraft in a video that has gone viral on social media.
It is thought that the video was taken from one of Arshdeep Singh's travel vlogs. Seated by the window next to teammate Shashank Singh, Chahal appeared to hide something in his palm before imitating a vaping gesture, as the pacer was seen conversing with batter Suryansh Shedge.
Following a brief puff of smoke, he coughs, which immediately provokes criticism on social media, particularly in light of the current Riyan Parag vaping incident.
