Mumbai Indians (MI) hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 41st match of the IPL 2026 on April 29, 2026. This match is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Hardik Pandya, MI captain, won the toss and chose to bat first.
Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton opened for MI and added 93 runs in 7 overs. Jacks fell for 43 in 22 balls, while Rickelton shouldered the MI batting. Naman Dhir (22) and Hardik Pandya (31) played important cameos, while Rickelton slammed the highest score by an MI player in IPL history.
He made 123* with 10 fours and 8 sixes, powering MI to 243/5 in 20 overs.
SRH brutally started their chase as Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head decimated the MI bowling attack, even taking on Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. Abhishek Sharma made 45 in 24 balls, while Travis Head led the way with 76 in 30 balls with 8 sixes and 4 fours. They added 129 runs in 8.4 overs.
It was then that Allah Ghazanfar showed his spin magic and dismissed Abhishek Sharma. Bowling a floater on the off-stump, Ghazanfar enticed Abhishek to play a false shot, and he was caught with ease by Trent Boult. Ghazanfar then accounted for Ishan Kishan, who was bowled on the first ball.

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were looking dangerous, and it seemed that the game was going away from MI’s grasp. However, Ghazanfar breathed new life into MI’s defense with the wicket of Abhishek.
However, in his zeal to celebrate the wicket, there was a heated argument between Ghazanfar and Abhishek, who received a fiery send-off from the bowler.
