Sanju Samson executed a lightning-fast stumping to dismiss Shubman Gill in Match 37 of the IPL 2026 season between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at Chepauk on Sunday (April 26).
During the seventh over of GT’s chase, Noor Ahmad bowled a delivery that drifted down the leg side. Gill missed his flick shot and lifted his back foot for a fraction of a second.
Standing behind the stumps, Samson demonstrated rapid reflexes reminiscent of the legendary MS Dhoni. He collected the ball and whipped off the bails in a flash, breaking a crucial 58-run opening partnership between Gill and Sai Sudharsan.
Here’s the video:
While Gill was dismissed for 33, Sudharsan went on to play a stunning knock of 87 in just 46 balls and put on 97 runs for the second wicket with Jos Buttler (39* off 30) to help GT overhaul the target of 159 with eight wickets and 20 deliveries to spare.
Earlier, the Titans restricted CSK to 158/7 in 20 overs after opting to bowl first. Kagiso Rabada (3-25) and Mohammed Siraj (1-23) delivered stunning spells for the visitors.
