Gujarat Titans (GT) were hosted by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24, 2026, in the 34th match of the IPL 2026. Rajat Patidar, RCB captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Sai Sudharsan shouldered the GT innings with a terrific 100 off 58 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes. He added 128 runs with Shubman Gill (32) for the first wicket. Jos Buttler (25), Jason Holder (23*), and Washington Sundar (19*) led GT to 205/3 in 20 overs.
Jacob Bethell, playing his first game for RCB this season, fell for 14 runs. But then Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal completely took the game away from GT with a 115-run partnership. Padikkal made 55, while Virat Kohli scored 81 in 44 balls.
RCB lost a few wickets in a bunch, and it was up to Krunal Pandya, who smacked 23* in 12 balls to take RCB past the finish line in 18.5 overs. RCB scored 206/5 and won the game by 5 wickets.
Virat Kohli was the star of the RCB innings, hitting 8 fours and 4 sixes in his knock and accelerating perfectly during the course of his inning. He was looking good to take RCB past the finish line and possibly get a century.
However, Jason Holder’s slower delivery proved to be fatal for Kohli, who was inside-edged it straight on to his stumps. Kohli was distraught and angry with his dismissal and was seen shouting angrily at himself as he made his way back to RCB dugout.
