Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered a comprehensive 32-run victory in their IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk on Tuesday (April 14).
Asked to bat first, Sanju Samson slammed 48 (32 balls) while Dewald Brevis scored 41 (29 balls) as the hosts racked up 192/5 on the board. Ayush Mhatre scored 38 as well but good death bowling by the KKR pacers meant that CSK were not able to post a 200-plus total.
Kartik Tyagi was the pick of the bowlers for Kolkata, claiming two wickets by conceding 35 runs in his four overs.
In reply, KKR’s innings was restricted to 160/7. It was a listless batting performance as no one managed to touch 40-run mark. Ramandeep Singh was the top scorer with 35 off 23 balls.
Noor Ahmad starred with the ball for CSK, returning with figures of 3 for 21 in four overs. Anshul Kamboj (2-32), Akeal Hosein (1-26) and Khaleel Ahmed (1-24) also delivered impressive spells.
This was CSK's second win in a row after poor start to the season, while KKR still have not won a single game in the competition.
Cricket fraternity praised CSK bowlers for their stunning display and criticised the KKR batters for their dismisal show.
