Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan and CEO Venky Mysore were seen engaging in a seemingly interesting chat during the rain break between the KKR v Punjab Kings (PBKS) IPL 2026 match in Kolkata on Monday, April 6, 2026.

KKR, under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, haven’t had the best start to their IPL 2026 tournament. KKR faced the Mumbai Indians in their opening match in Mumbai and did well by posting 220/4 batting first. But MI batters went one better with Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton leading the way and won the game for MI by 6 wickets.

In their second game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR’s weak bowling was exposed as SRH piled up 226/8. KKR's batting crumbled under pressure, and they lost the game by 65 runs.

Shah Rukh Khan visited the Eden Gardens to see the match between his team, KKR, and Punjab Kings. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane shocked everyone by choosing to bat first after winning the toss, as there was rain in the air, and then KKR lost two quick wickets before the rain began pouring down.

Finn Allen and Cameron Green were dismissed in the same over, putting KKR under pressure immediately. The innings had barely settled when rain fell after 3.4 overs, leaving the KKR on 25/2.

During the rain break, Shah Rukh Khan was seen having an agitated chat with KKR CEO Venky Mysore. Television cameras frequently panned to the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was gesturing something to Venky Mysore.

When the rain stopped and the covers began to come off, there was a brief period of relief that suggested a potential return. But then the weather changed once more, becoming more severe as the rain came back along with lightning and thunderstorms.

Eventually, the game was called off due to a wet outfield, and KKR and PBKS both shared one point each.
