The videos and photos of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka’s animated chat with captain Rishabh Pant and coach Justin Langer on April 1, 2026, went viral after LSG lost their IPL 2026 tournament opener to Delhi Capitals (DC) in Lucknow.

Asked to bat first, LSG could only manage 141 runs, with Abdul Samad (36) and Mitchell Marsh (35) being the main scorers. Rishabh Pant, who opened the batting, was run out for 7 runs. T Natarajan and Lungi Ngidi picked 3 wickets each.

In the chase, LSG pacers rocked the DC batting lineup, reducing them to 26/4. But then, Sameer Rizvi hammered 70* and added 119* runs with Tristan Stubbs (39*) to take DC home comfortably, registering a 6-wicket win.

After the game got over, several videos and photos went viral on social media that showed Sanjiv Goenka in an animated conversation with Rishabh Pant and Justin Langer.  

LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka received lots of flak for his behavior on the field as fans were reminded of his antics when KL Rahul was captain in IPL 2024 and even last year when Pant was on the receiving end of Goenka’s harsh words.

However, the Lucknow Super Giants took to social media and posted the entire video from the start when Rishabh Pant met Goenka and Langer. It shows Goenka welcoming Pant with a huge high five before he, Pant, and Langer got to discussing something that looked cordial instead of the clips that went viral on social media.
