While Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals were engaged in a thrilling contest on the field in the IPL 2026 game at the Ekana Stadium on April 1, the fans had their own contest going on in the stands.
During the on-field contest, home side LSG was bundled out for 141 runs thanks to three wickets each by DC’s Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan. Then LSG bowlers reduced DC to 26/4, but Sameer Rizvi’s 70* and Tristan Stubbs’ 39* took DC past the finish line with 6 wickets in hand.
Apart from the thrill on the field, there was some punching and kicking in the stands as well as a physical fight broke out among spectators, with footage of the brawl quickly going viral.
The footage clearly showed spectators getting into a heated argument, which evolved into a full-fledged violent clash inside the stadium. The specific reason for the brawl is unknown, but the situation escalated quickly until security officers and police intervened to separate those involved and restore order.
